I enlisted because I wanted to kick ass for my country since the day I saw a picture of my dad in his Air Force uniform. While he worked in the NSA, it only strengthened my resolve to seek out the forces of evil and blow them right the hell up.

This weekend is the SW Wisconsin AirFest. The Ex has always taken the kids, but this is my weekend to have them, so I’m gonna have to decide whether we’ll go or not. Depends on how obnoxious the little guy is behaving Saturday morning. I gotta tell ya though, I love the week building up to it cuz my house is about a mile or two from the airport and all the planes fly in over my house. AWESOME to watch. Then on the Friday before, they all practice over my neighborhood too. It’s noisy but worth it to watch and hear cuz in my home, we know it’s the sound of freedom (Blue Angels and Golden Knights).

And, YankeeMom, I think I saw the WWII bomber cruising along the mountains - flying along the freeway! Man, I just stood there in the parking lot watching her cruise on by. In my mind I began to imagine 40 of these flying over in formation making another run …

Thanks, Fix, for sharing that with us! I thank god every day for men and women such as yourself who see beyond their immediate “I want…” and step up in honor.

I just went to the airshow here and saw alot of the airplanes that won us WWII ( you can see pics of them over at my place). What a great part of history the AF has.

I was wandering around online and found a link to this post. I was ready to puke after reading it, and THIS line put me on alert to the thoughts and reasoning of the far left:

Many of the troops join out of misguided patriotism or personal desperation and they are destroyed as they are made to destroy. They suffer far more than I ever will.

The left just cannot fathom selfless sacrifice unless it’s standing with arms linked in front of a military base protesting, or going to a world summit and rioting and destroying other people’s property cuz “the poor people of this world need HELP,” or sending nasty cards and letters to injured soldiers at Walter Reed. Now THAT is self sacrifice and all you military drones are just brainwashed and stupid. I swear, when they mouth platitudes like I support our troops but not the war and then read something like this, I know what the truth is and I get ANGRY.

Thank you Fix for your service and for this post. You speak the truth and I’m grateful.
